Conte Priola Pinot Grigio Veneto
Veneto Region, Italy
After the half marathon on Sunday, I treated myself to a glass of wine. Conte Priola Pinot Grigio Veneto was an inexpensive and easy bottle to break out for a little poolside day-drinking. Here’s my tasting review for the sixth volume of my Wine of the Week series.
Conte Priola Pinot Grigio Review
Look: Clear with a hint of yellow and green hues.
Nose: Bland nose with scents of lemon and citrus.
Taste: This one goes down very easy, like Sunday morning (or afternoon in this case). It’s semi-dry with light acidity. Overall, it doesn’t pack a lot of punch, but enough to leave a little tartness in the mouth.
Food Pairing: Appetizers such as crudites, crackers, and fruit. I drank it alongside poolside snacks of strawberries and Stacy’s Pita Chips, which by the way are highly addictive. This Conte Priola Pinot Grigio would also be good paired with a light fish such as tilapia or cobia.
Overall a 2.75/3 for an easy, afternoon poolside wine. It is not something I’d choose to have with a meal.
