Last night heralded in the holiday party season for me. It got me thinking about what to serve at my holiday party, if I were to ever have one, just sayin’. I love the names of festive holiday cocktails so while I’m a wine and champagne drinker, I’d happily try a festive cocktail just because its sounds good. Who doesn’t love holiday cheer in a glass, right?!
Here are a few I have my eye on this year:
1. Christmas Cranberry Juleps
I’m a huge fan of mint juleps around Derby Day and cranberries at the holidays, so this holiday cocktail is a perfect comination for me. If they are anything like the real mint juleps, I’ll only need one thank you very much. This recipe by Good Housekeeping might take some time to make but the holidays are about savoring the flavors so I’m betting the end product is well worth the investment.
2. Merry Manhattan
This cocktail name had me at Manhattan. Visions of drinking this after a long day of shopping, ice skating in Rockfeller Center and seeing the tree dance in my head. Since I’m not getting to NYC this year, this is as close as I’ll get. The classic bourbon drink is made merry with a ginger-cinnamon-cardamom infused syrup, which sounds yummy and the cardamom makes it healthy, right? I’m going to go with it being healthy.
3. Holiday Mule
This cocktail sounds like it should be sipped curled up underneath a blanket sitting beside the christmas tree with Frank Sinatra music in the background. This isn’t my reality in Florida, but a girl can dream. The recipe from Home Sweet Home once again includes one of my favorites-cranberry juice. It is paired with a ginger beer and fresh rosemary for what I’m sure is a zippy yet cozy drink.
Happy holidays and cheers!
