It’s the first of October and that means it’s time to commit to training for a few races. It should start to get cooler and I’ll enjoy running more.
I like having a goal to work towards (Type A personality all the way!) so I signed up for the Sarasota Music Half Marathon in February. It will be the third year in a row that I’m running it and unlike last year, I want to train just for fun. I made my goal of under two hours last year on a brutal blustery day and I got a little burnt out after finishing the race. In the meantime I’m going to run a few five and 10K’s starting with one of my favorites, Bills Beer Run, at the end of this month. I’m up to four miles at an easy pace so I’m confident I can do well in this five miler.
